Much more than just makin' it

You guys are super heroes!!

Remember at the beginning of the term when I said that you are the hope for Mississippi's schools? That you are the best chance we have? I was telling the truth!

Ok.. so I need you to release the tension in your shoulders... maybe stretch a little bit and take a deep breath

Now forget about the state tests for just a sec,

forget about just trying to make it to summer,

or to retirement,

or anything else other than the most important reason that you are a teacher.

Your kids are the most important thing in the world and you have the chance to make a tremendous impact on their lives!! I often regret that I can't be in the classroom with you guys so I try my best to encourage and help you all as much as I can. I hope that I'm helping a little bit, but really I just want to say thank you!!

I hope you guys have a restful weekend, have a great next week, and be the heroes your kids need you to be!! Love 'em lots!!

Time Flies

Guess what!? Its already week 6 and you have done the hardest parts of the class!!! The video has been (by a long shot) the most difficult project historically in this class. ANNNNND the Prezi has been the favorite!! 

You're going to be talking about presenting information in new ways and some interesting trends in education. I hope you're ready!! So get in there and check out the video/material and start playing with Prezi!! I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Week 4 discussions

I'm very encouraged to see so many of you already using video in your classrooms! I'm glad this trend is starting to come around. All I heard for a long time was how every school blocked Youtube and that this would not work. Now at least we are able to try!! You all have great insight and experiences. I hope that you're learning from each other and getting some great resources. I also hope that you're starting to see how valuable that your classmates are! Your experiences and discussions are so much more than just an activity! They're like a whole class altogether!! The tech stuff is just kind of a fun bonus for being here!! :) 

How are you all doing with video editing software? Please don't wait until the last minute for this project. It may give you trouble. Don't forget to ask questions if it does!
