I hope you're excited!! (I'm excited)
We are going to have a great time so lets get started!!
There's a few things that you need to do very first thing:
The bulk of the course is in the Content section. (Click on Course tools -> Content)
- In the content section you'll see some Modules. Look in the "Very important info" module and you'll see the course schedule and the course syllabus. THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT.. *Thats why they're there* You'll also see the rubrics for the course and we'll talk about those later.
- Look in the Week 1 Module "Intro to EDU 625" and watch the "Introduction and Welcome to EDU 625" Video. Do what it says there and you'll be fine
- Finally go to the Discussions section (Click on Course tools -> Discussions) and find the Open Forum. This is a very important place for you to ask and answer your classmates' questions and stuff. Its not graded and doesn't even have to be about this class, but its a great place to get connected. When you find the open forum please click the "Subscribe" link off to the right. This will let you know when there's a question that has been asked and when I've answered things. You wouldn't believe how many times your question will be answered here, but the only way you will know is if you click subscribe.
Finally, the most important thing about this class is that you 1) Don't Panic and 2) forget the phrase "I'm not Tech savvy". You are able to do this and we are all here to help each other. Ask questions in the open forum or just email me, but panicking and/or getting frustrated is not an option!!
We are going to learn a tremendous amount from each other and you're going to *hopefully* find some things that you can immediately use in your classrooms. Needless to say.. we have a really good time in this class!!
Ready to get started!? Go and have fun!!
(Don't Panic!)
